Commissioned Greyhound Portrait

I don't usually work with acrylics (says she who finished a mural using just that medium not two months ago), but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. My draftsmanship still gets lost at times, but I feel like my sense of color and light are improving.

The woman who commissioned this painting is involved in a greyhound rescue, and these are her dogs through the years. From time to time I dog-sit the one on the far right!

  1. As the commissioner of this painting and the ecstatic owner, I can tell you that this image doesn't do justice to it, especially the lighting. The actual art seems brighter maybe? Not sure how to explain it but the colors really pop. I love it! Thanks Polly!

  2. I'll also add that Polly was a joy to work with during the design phase, and she was very patient with me as I tried to describe what I was looking for, and doubly patient since I acquired new dogs near the end of our design process...but she made room for them in the painting!
